Important Walk Day Details

The FAAN Atlanta Walk is this Saturday. We have been working hard to make sure this is an extra special event for all of our walkers this year.
I wanted to share some important Walk Day information with everyone:
1) Parking is available in both the St. Barnabus and the St. Patrick churches right by Brook Run Park. It will be a lot easier to park in one of those lots and walk into the park, as there are two events going on that day.
2) Walker check in and registration begin at 9AM. If you have not yet registered online, I strongly recommend that you do, as the registration lines will be longer. There will be 4 stations for walker check-in and 2 stations for walker registration. Also, remember that if you don’t preregister, you may not receive a tshirt.
3) Don’t forget about the DEY Ipad2 giveaway. The winner will be announced at 11:15. Winners must be present to claim their prize.
4) Allergic Living is giving out the latest edition of their magazine and is offering a special discounted subscription rate. You can pick up your copy of the magazine and sign up at the Food Allergy Kids of Atlanta booth.
5) Parts of North Peachtree will be shut down for the Peachtree Charter Middle School 5K and Fun Run from about 8-8:30. Here is a link showing what roads will be shut down- http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/21118588 A suggested alternative route is to take 285 to Peachtree Industrial Blvd Exit. Get of at the 1st exit, turning left/north onto Tilly Mill Road. Take a left on North Peachtree Road (I think it’s the 2nd light) and Brook Run will be on your right. Even if you are coming from a different direction, this should help you tweak your route to avoid the road closure.
6) This year, along with all of the yummy allergy friendly sponsor goodies, DJ entertainment, face painting, bouncy areas, tattoos and coloring, we will also have a Home Depot sponsored Kids Workshop area and a Discount School Supply sponsored kids craft area. It promises to be a very fun filled morning for the kids!
